Why some listings have a bigger images than others? Huge image size variations

Hi,

I have just noticed that some listings have a bigger portion of the listing destinated to the image holder. I've seen this happening on a computer screen, not on mobile.

I have a listing with images occupying 30% of the screen but I have seen other listings in the same category, with images occupying up to 40%. That's a huge difference.

In a different category, I have a listing occupying 36% of the screen.

I've downloaded the images (main and second images) to see if the difference comes from the uploaded image, but it's almost identical the same size and ratio

Does anybody know anything about this?

Hello @Cheetah_Motorsport,

First thing I will share with you is that image requirements may vary by product category. You can always check the Seller Central help pages for the corresponding category Product page style guides. Note that in the case of overlaps or conflicts, the guidelines of each category take precedence. When images are received from multiple sellers, Amazon will favor the images that meet the style guides and standards.

The image aspect ratio of your product’s main Amazon thumbnail depicts how much space it “takes up” in results, as well as how it looks on the product page. Specific ratios serve the purpose of framing a film or photograph’s story in its best form. You see everything you want to see inside the frame and nothing else outside of it.

You can search the web for tips on optimizing your main and secondary product images.
