Alternatives to Royal Mail
I've sent a few things 1st class using RM and 7 working days later still not delivered.
Is there good alternatives as I am seriously considering moving away from them. Considering @Ofcom fined them due to late deliveries, they haven't made waves on improvement have they!

In my experience sending tracked items via Royal Mail, they deliver on time even choosing 24 or 48, maybe thats worth a go unless you are already trying it?
I don't think over this busy period no courier will be perfect and your bound to have parcels missing etc due to the volume the couriers are handling.
There are only really Royal Mail, Evri and Yodel priced competitively with each other. Fedex up drop off is more expensive, but an alternative option.

Visit your local delivery office and go to the place where you would collect carded parcels. Ask the person there if they would check on their system for the tracking, RM's is a better system and can tell you more, received with errors is the most common reason for delays, but only RM's system will tell you. RM mail centres are a mixed bag, Jubilee is probably the worst for taking their time like the north west super hub is, depends where the items of mail is going. But patience is required especially at this time. All delivery companies are the same

I even had a special delivery not arrive next day today. Feels ripe for disruption only trouble is Evri are the only other courier who do small parcels cheap and they aren't any better.

Hi there, we have used Amazon logistics for a little while now and have found them to be better than Evri in our experience, not through the buy shipping program I might add, but through a third party. 48 hour parcels still arriving on time this week.

Royal Mail have been a waste of time since there workers started striking, we moved away and back twice, but the service didn't improve and it cost us a lot of money, so now use EVRi and fingers crossed no problems for the last 3 months and over 1000 orders

Ive sacked RM in favour of Evri recently.
In the last 6 weeks since using Evri I think ive had to refund 2 packages. One was crazy late which is fair and the other was a corrupt customer playing the refund game. So far their record with me has been very good.
With Royal Mail I was refunding that many daily because stuff just wasnt turning up, especially Large Letter sent through Buy Shipping.
Evri Postable is more epensive than large letter at £2.24 so I just use RM for the light Large Letter stuff upto 100g and Evri for the rest. Once you go above 1kg Evri prices goes up so i usually go Yodel above 1kg
RM seem to be in no mans land, theyre too expensive to hit the budget market but also not good enough to be up with the more premium services.

I am also interested to know if anyone knows an alternative to RM. The fines from Ofcom are a joke, and now it feels like we're the ones bearing the cost through surcharges. By the way, are you still facing these surcharges? We've been noticing an increase in them lately.
