Brand Approval Rejected for Scholastic – Valid Invoice from Scholastic Inc. Not Accepted

Hi everyone,

I submitted a brand approval application for Scholastic and included a valid commercial invoice issued directly by Scholastic Inc. Education — the official brand owner and publisher.

The invoice includes:

- Invoice number and date

- My business name and address

- Product title: “What If You Had Animal Eyes?” (ISBN: 9781338101089)

- Quantity: 100 units

- Full payment and shipment confirmation

Despite meeting all documentation requirements, my application was rejected twice with the message: “The provided document cannot be accepted.”

I am confused why an invoice from the actual brand owner is not acceptable. I contacted support and they repeated the same response without clarifying what exactly was missing.

UPDATE:

I also contacted Selling Partner Support via live chat on May 26, 2025, and shared the invoice again during the conversation. Despite explaining that the invoice was issued directly by Scholastic Inc. Education and includes all required fields (invoice number, product, ISBN, quantity, payment, shipment, etc.), the response I received was:

> "We checked and confirm that our internal team investigation has completed, which have provided document cannot be accepted."

> "Our internal team do not accept online order confirmations, packing slips, sales orders, pro forma invoices, or sales quotes. Submit an invoice from your manufacturer, distributor, or your supplier."

I clarified again that Scholastic Inc. **is** the manufacturer, publisher, and supplier. The agent closed the case with the same boilerplate response.

I’m seeking help to understand what else is required, or why a direct invoice from the brand owner is being rejected. If any moderator can escalate this or provide guidance, I’d appreciate it.

I've heard about Scholastic cracking down, with some sellers having dozens or more listings pulled.

Do you have authorization FROM SCHOLASTIC to sell their products specifically on Amazon?

This may be Scholastic but it is also equally likely that Amazon an Amazon bot is rejecting the invoice and the human handlers often refuse to question the bot (safer for them). I'll copy the mods and see if they can take a look at the case you provided and provide more insight.

Amazon rejecting valid invoices is a real problem right now and needs to be addressed.

I wanted to stop by as I took a look at the CASE IDs 17768129051 and 17778510881.

There are categories, brands and specific products that require approval so our customers can shop with confidence here on Amazon. It appears since you are not the brand owner, if you have a relationship with the brand/publisher (which it sounds like you do based on the replies above), you should have them add you as an authorized 3rd party reseller through Brand Registry (on their end). Once that has occurred you can attempt to list again and if you still have any issues reach out to support letting them know you are now in the brand's Brand Registry approved list.
