Amazon PARENT ASIN RETAIL
Hi,
The Amazon Retail parent is not listed in our inventory, and we need to add our child ASINs to the correct parent. They refuse to remove the parent, even though we are the brand owner, which makes it more difficult to manage our catalogue because Amazon is not following the correct policy.
I also asked where i can read this policy but they didn't reply.
Could you please confirm whether Amazon is required to delete the Amazon parent ASIN when it is not available in our catalogue, especially considering that we are the brand owner
Thank you in advance

Hi @Seller_9KsfDSuKJzCAJ,
Once an ASIN is established in Amazon’s system, it is generally not possible to have it deleted outright.
This is because parent ASINs are structural elements of Amazon’s catalog, and deleting them could disrupt existing variation relationships and cause catalog issues. What can be done is to remove child ASINs from the parent, but the parent ASIN will continue to exist in the catalog system.
Even as the brand owner, Amazon usually does not delete existing ASINs but instead manages such requests through catalog updates or merges.
I hope this explanation helps clarify the situation.
Best, Ezra
