Amazon OTDR Policy Confusion - Items Shipped On Ship By Date Next Day Air - Still Affecting OTDR
Hi,
@Tiff_Amazon @Rose_Amazon @Dougal_Amazon @Dominic_Amazon @KJ_Amazon @SEAmod @Joey_Amazon
I have been reading posts on the forum regarding the OTDR shipping issue. I was unaware it was also affecting our account too as we have a 100% OTDR with Premium Shipping. Why is there a difference between how Premium Shipping is being calculated and how other shipments are being calculated? I haven't had our account show anything under 100% OTDR for months on Premium Shipping and we ship all products the same way - On the Ship By Date with the necessary Shipment Method. All packages are scanned by UPS on the Ship By Day.
Additionally many products we ship are sent Next Day Air - The Best Possible Shipping Method. We also have our orders set to Amazon Automated Handling AND Amazon SSA. The orders are processed through Amazon Buy Shipping YET the policy states that only standard shipping is covered by an OTDR Badge. Why would Next Day Delivery not be covered by the OTDR badge if we meet the three requirements?
How are we supposed to ship product any faster or better than UPS Next Day? I have five shipments that are considered an infraction even though they were shipped with all three criteria, on the ship by date and with Next Day Delivery. UPS ultimately missed the delivery date on these shipments but again that is beyond our control. Is this truly how this works? We have no recourse even if everything is done perfectly?

@Tiff_Amazon @Rose_Amazon @Dougal_Amazon @Dominic_Amazon @KJ_Amazon @SEAmod @Joey_Amazon Any update regarding this? Thank you!

Hello @Seller_EaXxAGUKLYNL7
Thanks for checking in about your OTDR and the recent policy changes.
OTDR protection from late deliveries is available on items shipped through standard shipping. Units shipped through Premium Shipping are not eligible for OTDR protection.
You can read more about OTDR updates and policy in our help page linked below:
Does Amazon offer tools that can help me improve my OTDR and meet the Amazon’s OTDR requirements?

2. Why would Next Day Air not be covered under the OTDR badge when that actually gets to the customer quicker? Why would Amazon only cover the slower shipping options? Essentially that means that we can't be protected for Prime orders?
Hello @Seller_EaXxAGUKLYNL7
That is correct: OTDR Protected labels are not available for Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) or Premium Shipping orders.
I shared your questions with our partner team for review.
Per our benchmarking, the 90% On-time delivery rate requirement accounts for factors such as weather events and sporadic uncontrollable events. These requirements are in-line with industry standards and help us deliver a great customer experience.
If there is a major disruption event that impacts all sellers shipping to a specific region, Amazon will not count deliveries that are late as a result in your OTDR. Whether a disruption is considered to be major is a discretionary decision made by Amazon.

I am 100% certain that Amazon will not get this right; based upon you recent track record of rolling out products and policies with little to know beta testing (and having them fail), why would be have any faith Amazon would do this correctly.

@KJ_Amazon Hmm. When I look at performance, I see "target over 90%" and we are currently at 98.39%, BUT, when I look at Premium Shipping Eligibility it says Require >= 97% and we are currently at 95.1% and ineligible. We see this routinely, and when the not on-time ones drop off after 40 days we become eligible again, and the cycle starts over again. I'm with the majority here that do not understand how the seller can be penalized for bad delivery by major carriers. Amazon should look at shipped on time, and shipped by appropriate service, not actual delivery time. Now, if you actually moved Premium to the 90% level we would never be in trouble.

This is also screwing me.. why tf wouldn't premium shipping get OTDR protections as well. I get high volume of next day shipping purchases and this is causing me so much issues, alot of the time there is no Claims Protection as well.. why.....

Hi
please increase the shipping days
i means 5 to 7 days shipping
thanks
Seller_WtOwWhtSrFjva
That is correct. They now include the actual date the customer gets the package.
After Amazon set up the automatic shipping time did you go in and do a manual adjustment?
This is what I did and it is okay now.

@Seller_EaXxAGUKLYNL7 @Seller_R2FVhqINv4BHP @Seller_vzx5sGNKZH37T and all other sellers asking about Premium Shipping guidelines and requirements:
The current OTDR protection policy only applies to the general account-level OTDR policy. The Premium Ship Option and Seller-Fulfilled Prime to have their own policies specific to those orders.
We are continually evaluating improvements to those programs, and we have shared your feedback with those partner teams for review.
