Is anyone else getting a ton of violations this last week???

Hi everyone! I was reaching out because a friend of mine have been getting slammed with all kinds of cosmetics IP complaints, counterfeit without test buy, and restricted products claims

I will start with the counterfeit without test buy.. This complaint was filed without this person ever even putting their hands on the product to determine it was counterfeit it came from a reliable distributor and i have provided invoices to prove it is authentic..my question is what else can i do if they dont accept those?

next i have been getting restricted inventory complaints on my listings that have not been active in months!! That have no current units for sale, no units inbound, nor do i plan to send any. Can anyone help me figure out the best way to solve these issues. When its bene far over 90 days since i lost sold most of them.

Next is the fact that going from almost never getting any violations to getting slammed with them but just the cosmetic category! I would chalk it up to bad luck if a friend of mine did not have the same thing happening to her...has anyone else been experiencing this and if so how are you handling it

any advice or guidance would be great thank you~

As long as you follow the rules and laws, are a brand approved retailer with valid invoices from brand authorized, wholesale only, distributors....nothing to worry about.

But looking at your inventory, including your Nike listings, I know you are neither and you and your friends are looking at permanent suspensions, funds confiscation and FBA inventory that will be destroyed.

Amazon is tightening the reins when it comes to counterfeit complaints. A buyer complaining is not the only way to get hit with a violation. It could be that your friend triggered a bot, or the brand owner reported your friend to Amazon for counterfeit sales. Be careful with distributors because a lot will say they are approved by the brand when they aren't. More often, I am seeing invoices from "reliable distributors" get denied. If you don't have a Letter Of Authorization from the brand itself you might get hit with a violation, despite Amazon claiming an invoice from a distributor is allowed.

"I will start with the counterfeit without test buy"

These are normally from the BRAND and it happens when they do not recognize you as an authorized seller of their items. If you have an actual relationship and account with the BRAND ask if they sent Amazon a "whitelist" of approved sellers and did not have you on it.

I had one of my brands stop me because they CHANGED the company they hired to screen sellers. The NEW screener did not recognize my Amazon store name because I do all my purchases under a different LLC. It took a couple weeks to get straightened out and no problems since then.

"i have been getting restricted inventory complaints on my listings that have not been active in months!!"

Doesn't matter. Amazon has your entire sales history including every ASIN that you ever created even if you were just 'testing' to see if you could sell it.

" getting slammed with them but just the cosmetic category!"

Both the brands AND AMAZON are tired of gray market and counterfeit items being sold by unauthorized sellers. The INFORM Act has severe penalties for every item and seller that Amazon allows to sell here that can't prove authenticity.

"any advice or guidance would be great thank you~ "

Here are the NEW rules for selling on the ‘new and improved’ Amazon. Only you can tell us if you meet the requirements. If they are rejecting your "invoices" my guess is that you do not.

The first question is -- Are you authorized IN WRITING by the BRAND to sell their items on Amazon? That means from the BRAND, not some random wholesale source that can NOT authorize anything – they only SELL.

More and more brands have provided a "whitelist" of their approved sellers and if YOU are NOT on the list you will be stopped in your tracks and probably hit with an IP violation.

The second (and probably more important) question is -- Where are you sourcing your products? Are you buying direct from the brand or through an AUTHORIZED wholesale source? That does NOT mean from the brand through their DOT COM SITE

Have you verified with the BRAND that your distributor IS an authorized wholesale distributor for ALL of their products. Some wholesalers are only allowed to distribute portions of a product line.

if you have items you don’t plan on selling again delete them from your inventory.

You never know what day, month, year from now that they will become a problem.

We have seen a few counterfeit without a test buy complaints. Most were cleared up with manufacturer invoices. However we still have 1 that the “review ream” has not removed. Even with 6 invoices supplied. The “geniuses” on that team can’t understand that some descriptions are long and the manufacturer abbrevates some words. Even though the invoice description is 99% matching the description on the listing.

Calling them up just gets you more infuriated as they can’t connect the simple dots shown to them.

This line implies that you do not understand lingo in Amazonland. The dictionary definition of "counterfeit" varies significantly from how it is used by the performance team.

Yeah, Doom and Gloom it is for most that find their way here. That is because they come AFTER the fact and don't spend time learning anything BEFORE they do.

Yes, my manufacturers know that I not only sell on Amazon, but created over 3000 listings here 10 years ago, for just 5 of those brands that did not have a presence here before.

And yes, each of them will certainly issue a LOA for the asking, or I wouldn't bother trying to sell it here.

I'm having the same issue with the Restricted inventory complaints - saying that the item contains a prescription ingredient. I'm going around and around with Amazon because the ingredients aren't printed on the product. They won't accept the ingredients list from the manufacturer's website and pictures of the product. I deleted most of my cosmetic listings out of caution.
