Competitive price too low to match. Huge loss in sales
Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has encountered the same problem as I have. My best seller I used to sell on average up to 50 units a day, sometimes more. Over the last 2 days I’ve lost the buy box and the competitive price has gone from £9.99 to £3.98! You can’t even buy the unit for that price never mind the fees on top of what you buy per unit for…! Perhaps they have old stock, unsure. The product is nowhere to be seen now on the listing pages when it used to be second from the top in the product search category. So in results Amazon isn’t winning and neither am I and it’s highly unlikely customers are going for a trip over to Asda (you can’t even buy online!) to get the product. Other Supermarkets are still selling at normal price. Anyone have any advice? You really don’t know what you’re going to wake up to each morning, I really don’t know whether it’s the worth the stress anymore. Anyone else in the same boat? :-(

If it is Asda that is selling it they maybe selling at a loss to get customers through the door. They may have been given a special price by the manufacturer or selling a slightly different cheaper version.
They could have made a mistake in pricing as well (I have worked with retailers who have done this occasionally)
It is likely to be temporary so they will increase the price to the normal price eventually. At which point the competitive price on your ASIN should be removed.
Although I dislike Amazon competitive pricing with a passion. I have a few items where I am told I need to sell it at a loss to get the buy box. I don't bother to reduce my price this low and sell them on other platforms.
I know this though will have an impact on your business. You could try logging a call with Seller Support but in my previous experiences they don't do anything with competitive pricing issues.
