First of all do NOT create a "Generic" listing. You will not be able to change it later to become your branded listing. Try to list it straight away with the brand you want to trademark. Often this is no problem, but try.

Second, your listing will have a better protection from hijackers if you buy a UPC from GS1 and use that UPC for CREATING your listing. As buyer and owner of this UPC you put your name exactly as it is in your seller account under "Legal Entity".

Hi @Seller_0f67dOPwtA0zM,

Thanks for reaching out! First of all, welcome to Amazon! @Seller_rI7BZIczK8iAC is one of our tenured sellers and is giving you some sound advice. I would go through Seller University and learn what you need to do to be successful on Amazon. You may also find the New Seller Group helpful as it's mainly new sellers like yourself in there asking questions. Please know that you can ask in the normal forums too, but some questions you may feel more comfortable asking other sellers that are in about the same stages as you are or a little further in the process.

If you search the forums for Listings Lounge, you will find a bunch of topics we have discussed over this past year in Create and Manage Listings that you may find helpful.

Once you know all about out policies, then I would recommend starting to create your listings. If your items are your brand, I would encourage you to purchase a UPC as you will not be able to add one in the future, and will lose all reviews if you decide to use one in the future as you will be required to create a new ASIN.

Wishing you the best!

Michelle
