Buyer Received Free Replacement Order Then Wins A to Z Refund

Buyer opened a "Return for Replacement" request which automatically generated a free replacement order through Amazon's return system. The replacement shipped out and was delivered. 2 weeks later the buyer opens a A to Z saying they "returned the order and still hadn't received their refund". I showed that the buyer had already received their replacement order, but Amazon still granted the refund and counted it against our ODR. Appeals have been denied saying the "Order was returned and should have been refunded".

This is AT LEAST the second post i have seen on this recently. I guess Amazon found a new way to screw sellers and give away free 3rd party seller products........

I get hammered on these replacement orders for $.0.00 I cant stand shipping out another brand new item for free and wondering how they get refunded and get to keep 2 items.

Scamazon they all know it and we see it and it is usually very Cleary as some use copied wording to get their free items! One would assume this FREE 2nd replacement is ok for all to do as it is Amazon approved.

This is a huge problem. Mainly because Amazon creates two separate orders and the orders are not linked together. The scam Buyer either get's the second item shipped for free (invoiced at zero) and never returns the 1st item. Or, as in your case returns the 1st item and demands a credit, while getting the second item for free. On the AtoZ Claim, there is no way in Amazon's system to tie the orders together.

I would say at least 90% of the return request orders I get, we get scammed. Most of the time the Buyer never returns the original item and gets the 2nd item for free. Going forward, we are not shipping the 2nd item until we are in receipt of the first item.

I am sorry this happened to you. Hopefully the moderators will start keeping track of the fraud this type of return creates for the Seller.

Just had that happen to us - almost.

Buyer filed for a return/free replacement. We shipped out the replacement and 2-days later buyer's return label was scanned and was given an immediate refund thought the rip-off "refund at first scan" scam.

Not withstanding the fact that we OPTED-OUT of the "free replacement" scam, it was sent anyway. Where is Amazon's "policy" not granting a refund, and if after the replacement is received if the original is not returned then the buyer (scammer) is billed for the replacement as well - but the original purchase is NOT refunded?

And remember - Amazon charges us a "tax" on shipping which negates any alleged savings they claim we get, and charges us a fee for "processing" a refund.
