Unable to change price per unit to correct value

Hi all

Hoping someone can help with an issue we are having with the display price per unit on some of our listings.

Approx. 12 months ago amazon randomly added the Unit Count & Unit Count Type attributes to some of our listing.

I believe this was done by some kind of amazon bot on our top selling items. Either way all the values they added were incorrect. As you can see from the below item B08X2SXYG6 the price per square metre is showing £46.83 when it should be around £7.87.

We have corrected all the errors on the listing page but this has not been amended on the live product page.

Having sent roughly 50 messages to customer services over the last year we are struggling to see what more we can do to solve this.

I just received this communication from the partner team:

"We have updated the correct UC/UCT values and it is reflecting in the CSI/Selection Central as well.

The PPU reflection will take time to reflect in the Detail Page (8-10hrs)."

I would appreciate it if you could confirm this for me, as I don't have access to this information.

Amazon's bots are absolute garbage and Amazon Seller Support is utterly hopeless. If sellers can't solve a problem on their own then the problem won't get solved.

As for your issue here, this could be down to some conflict between the various unit counts and item counts in the product details - you say the price per square metre should be £7.87 which is about 1/6th of the value it's claiming and there are six items in the pack.

It looks like it thinks the *total* area is 50cm x 55cm (rather than the area per item). You can try adjusting the details in the product page or uploading them again via a flat file (just download the correct template).

However, Amazon takes the information provided by sellers as mere suggestions and will often consider the values plucked by its bots out of (let's be charitable here) thin air to be more relevant than those provided by the person who created the listing, is actually holding the product in their hand and, in many cases, even manufactured it themselves.

If they refuse to accept your submission (the flat file upload results will often say that your values don't match the catalogue and you should change your values to match theirs) then their stated remedy is to contact Seller Support - at which point you might as well write the listing off and create another one, this time supplying all the relevant values yourself and hope the bots don't change them later.

I checked all the cases opened with Seller Support and from the communication seems like the issue was solved some months ago for this ASIN.

Can you confirm that it was once resolved and now is happening again or was never resolved in the first place?

I was informed that “Fat Quarter” doesn’t fall under the standard Unit Of Measure.

I see we are getting somewhere, the UC has been changed to 1.65 which is correct. This would relate to the UCT Square Metre which I believe is a valid type.
