Adding images
Just noticed with the other recent absurd changes that there is no longer a tab for adding a main image. You can still add a item specific image on the offer page but unless I am missing something there is no access to main image for the product detail page. There is a button for main image on the offer page but it is a dead link.
The best part will be when my listing gets noticed by Amazon and I get a "the main image is missing or incorrect. Please submit a compliant image to lift the suppression".

Thank you! That is exactly what I needed. It used to be that when editing a used or collectible copy you would automatically get four tabs:
Product Details
Images
Offer
Safety & Compliance
Today I was only getting the "Offer" tab. But following your advice I clicked on "Suggest Changes" at the top right of the screen and then got the four tabs that I was used to having. I clicked randomly on a few of my existing listings and found that at least for today all of them require this procedure to get the tabs which used to automatically appear.
I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to or not, but yes, I have noticed that when the edit page identifies as "a new version of the Add a Product tool," a couple tabs do not immediately load.
I discovered that you have to click the "Suggest Changes to Product Information" at the top right, then these tabs appear.
IF that's what you're talking about. If not, ignore me.
(ETA: I should have said that this is not always the case. It seems to be a random occurrence. They seem to be experimenting with different options.)

In my experience (just selling used books) there has never (or at least not for many many years) been a place to add detail page images on the Add page. That comers on the Edit page.
I have not had any problem uploading to the Image tab -- but I know my image will not be used unless the current image is less than 1000 pixels on longest side.
You cannot upload images to the Offer tab unless you are selling Collectible or Used -- cannot use it for anything sold as New.
