Trying to sell dewalt.

Hello all,

I have been a seller on Amazon for about 2-3 years now and have made good progress in my respective field. I sell Milwaukee, Klein, and Makita mostly but recently tried to branch out to Dewalt. I found local suppliers (fasteners Inc.) and even a Home Depot to test the waters. well, both got denied, I knew the Home Depot one would since it was an online order, but the fasteners one checked all the boxes on what they asked (state name, says it is an invoice, my address, and required units purchased with their names clearly stated) I even threw in the actual things I bought (10 pocket knives which ARE allowed here and some fasteners). This one was denied as well and I don't understand why. Been looking at some other suppliers but as of now I'm confused Amazon's team just gives me the same automated message that something with the invoice is incorrect meanwhile everyone on call says it shouldn't be getting denied. What's the next move?

You probably need to include your Letter of Authorization from Dewalt stating that you are authorized to sell their products on Amazon. And Dewalt can recommend the distributor you should be using.

Like Picks_by_Nisha said-you need a LOA from the Brand. And now that you have outed yourself for selling the other brands, you may be getting notices from Amazon that will request valid invoices and/or LOA's for those as well.

Frankly. I'm surprised you weren't suspended previously because Makita is on the list of forbidden brands for Amazon!

They are being kind. Me, not so much --

HINT #1 -- VACATION MODE -- NOW!

HINT #2 -- SELLER U -- NOW!

https://sell.amazon.com/learn

HINT #3 -- Start writing your "please help with my Section 3 suspension' letter NOW. It will save you time when you get it.

For any rookies out there reading this, it is a near perfect example of how to get suspended on Amazon.

BEFORE even trying to start selling, ask yourself these questions --

DO YOU have an LOA from the brand allowing you to sell on here?

DID YOU source from AUTHORIZED wholesale sources that your rep at the brand says are OK.

NOTE -- the answer is NO in both cases.

NOTE that you need verification from the brand that the source is legitimate and authorized, NOT from one of those gray market sellers touted on TikTok and YouTube as having "thousands of brands and products" and assure you that they are authorized.

If you have watched any YouTube or TikTok videos FORGET everything you saw there.

Spend hours/days on Seller U and read the Forum to see all the really creative ways rookies find to get suspended by ignoring the advice above!

Your playing a very risky game here. Many sellers sourcing major brands to sell on Amazon have had thier accounts deactivated, funds and inventory confiscated for doing the same.

Keep in mind:

If you pay sales tax on it when you buy it, you are the end user and selling it again as "new" is fraud and an Amazon policy violation.

Using a brands intellectual property for your profit without authorization from the Brand is theft and an Amazon policy violation.

Selling an item as "new" when it has already been sold once can make the item "materially different" and counterfiet, an Amazon policy violation.

Out of curiosity, I just did a quick search and found this in regard to Milwaukee tools (I did not check the others):

As part of the selective distribution system, Authorized Milwaukee Dealers – the only companies with access to genuine Milwaukee items – are prohibited to sell Milwaukee branded products via third-party sellers or online marketplaces, such as Amazon, eBay, Mano Mano and Facebook to name just a few. The only place users will be able to buy brand new Milwaukee products online is via Authorized Milwaukee Dealer websites.

The Milwaukee website lists their "authorized distribution partners," and "Fasteners Inc." is not on there. (In fact, that site calls itself a "Tool Outlet.")

Has something changed? (I didn't note the date on the above.) How could you have an LOA from Milwaukee for selling on Amazon if they know you didn't go through their approved network?

There are two very distinct sides to this issue and I'd really like to understand it better.

Just so you are aware, earlier I had said I thought Milwaukee Tool was restricted and I was checking to verify.

They DID get back to me about Amazon sales and said this:

"Amazon is not an authorized distributor for Milwaukee Tool.

Your thin ice just became a lot thinner.

You really need to verify with the BRANDS and get any approvals in writing if you are going to sell on here these days.
