Sales report per state

I am trying to figure out if there is a report I can produce which shows me how many sales I have gotten from each state. A report like this would help me decide which region I should send my products inventory, when shipping to FBA centers.

We have 6 items we make and send out and would love to see which states are more likely to buy our products based on past trends in sales.

"A report like this would help me decide which region I should send my products inventory, when shipping to FBA centers."

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how FBA works.

AMAZON will tell you where to send your items so that THEY can impress their buyers with how fast things get delivered.

One of the 'joys' of doing FBA is that THEY decide what they want/need in whatever location and they have you ship it there.

That is so that THEIR customers can get things faster and make THEM look good while also saving time and money by NOT transferring/shipping stuff themselves.

If you ship multiple boxes they can/will make you split shipments. There was one recent thread where the seller had to ship to three locations. They were using the ‘placement service’ and said ‘This dramatically increase cost. For me it cost of sending same shipment went from $300 to $1500. ‘

Hello @Seller_uYMZtZ8RcJrc8,

Thank you for posting here at the forums!

I believe you might be able to determine that by looking at yourReports in Seller Central.

However, as it was mentioned by other sellers on this post. Amazon's fulfillment utilizes data to distribute the product internally based on the demand for your products.

The order report contains this information, but beware, Amazon has a lot of different ways to say the same thing. Not sure if this data is communicated by customers, but I've seen the state abbreviations vary quite a bit and sometimes contain the actual name of the state. e.g. "California" may be "CA", "Ca" "ca" "Cal" etc.

We had to build a helper table just to make sense of it all.

Your best bet of doing something like this is going to the 'Fulfillment" tab, then requesting an "All Orders" report.

Apply an autofilter in excel on the "fulfillment-channel" column and only select "Amazon". Copy & paste that data into a new sheet/different tab. Then apply another Autofilter into the "ship-state" column and them simply select the states you want to look at. If you'd like to take it further, you can make a table where you assign each state to a region, then use a vlookup in order to generate a region for each order.

Your idea would make way too much sense therefore Amazon would never do that. But you also aren't aware of what the "F" in FBA stands for yet either!
