Our biggest Thanksgiving holiday shopping event ever
Our Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday holiday shopping event from November 21 through December 2, was the biggest ever compared to the same 12-day period ending on Cyber Monday in prior years, with record sales and a record number of items sold.
It was also the largest event ever for independent sellers, most of which are small and medium-sized businesses. More than 60 percent of sales in Amazon’s store during the event were from independent sellers.
"We know how much our customers appreciate saving money, and our customers saved billions with us during this year's holiday shopping event," said Doug Herrington, CEO, Worldwide Amazon Stores. "I want to thank our employees, vendors, and selling partners for delivering an outstanding experience, time after time."

Well you did suppress lost of items by removing buy boxes deleting sales data up to a decade old pricing fixing items you can not compete with with out of date MSRPs all in order to manipulate customers towards your items sold so we would say we are sure you did but do you think the manipulation suppression will last for ever before you loose revenue from all the sellers who sift business away from a platform that treats sellers as the enemy. Congratulations on destruction of small business and promoting wasteful returns.
Our sales were down 30% due to the fact of price suppression and buy box removals stopping all sales on that item!

You turn off a lot of customers and sellers when you push this on listings you are price suppressing.

I'm sure your Chinese sellers are very pleased.

You keep using this word "independent." I do not think this word means what you think it means.
Also, why can we no longer downvote news items. "When a metric becomes a measure it's no longer a good metric."
Don't hurt yourselves patting yourselves on the backs. All illegally developed monopolies grow over time ... then again, so do cancers.

Amazon stole thousands of our dollars and gave them to any buyer who fraudulently filed an A-Z claim. Stop bragging about how much you made when you're stealing from your sellers.

Customers are happy and the sellers make no profit.

Most of the items I "saved" money on from Black Friday, as a shopper, have had to be returned because they broke quickly.
What are the stats on how much money you made for China this year? How many miles driven for returns that were from poor quality items being sold? How many claims from sellers that got obviously used returns, or garbage instead of product? One only needs to browse the local Amazon returns auction house to see how many tools get used and returned, and have no issues, other than you offer "free" returns.

Dollar wise maybe. But everything has gone up 20 - 30 %, so maybe not.

Wow! Christmas sales must have really sucked if they had to go all the way back and brag about Thanksgiving =D
Actually I'm not surprised as this mirrors my sales exactly--November was solid, but December fell much flatter than usual. Consumers are tapped out. I expect stagnation or outright recession in 2025.

Right?
We must all remember to run everything Amazon says through a Maury-Povich-type lie detector thingy.
The results will surprise no one. Ever.
