End of 3rd-party re-selling on Amazon
As a reseller of preowned items, 40% of my inventory is de-listed over the past three months since many brands require approval to sell. Unfortunately, that does not include approval to sell preowned items. Amazon is doing this intentionally to remove 3rd party re-sellers. My sales declined by 80% in the past year, mostly due to losing so many brands.
Who else is feeling the pain?

A lot of people are feeling your pain. We sell used books, as is probably evident by our name, and even doing that has gotten difficult. My best advice is to never, ever put your eggs in one basket. Find other venues to sell on as well.

You are correct that Amazon does NOT want to be in the business of offering "Preowned Items", at least, not anymore.
Most of these actions were taken by the BRANDS, not by Amazon. These Brands have decided to limit the competition for online commerce to only those who are specifically designated BY the Brands.
Putting yourself in their place in this new world of online commerce, why would you voluntarily give-up SO MUCH of your profit by selling Wholesale when you can sell Retail direct?
Amazon is definitely guilty of making 3rd Party FBM Selling MUCH more difficult in the last few years, and this has been exacerbated by Amazon's habit of replacing qualified Humans with poorly-written software.
HOWEVER...
The problem you are describing is more the Brand Owners intentionally removing non-approved Resellers off of the largest online commerce platform on Earth, than it is Amazon "Intentionally" removing 3rd Party Sellers.
Amazon is primarily in the business of collecting FEES from their Sellers, and so Amazon does NOT want to "Lose" Sellers, as it just costs them money. Amazon collects the MOST Fees from FBA Sellers, but Amazon does a great business on the various Fees that FBM Sellers also pay.
Amazon DOES allow for Brand Owners to restrict the Selling access on Amazon, which is why many products require approval to Sell. This is not new, and has been standard since well before we began Selling here.
So, Amazon is not so much getting rid of "3rd Party Sellers", as it is getting rid of "Preowned Items", at least for certain Brands.
There are currently many, many items that can still be listed as "Used" in various condition on Amazon, but as time goes by, more and more "Brands" will decide to sell direct, and thus limit Seller access.
There are many other sites you can use to sell your "Preowned Items".
Good Luck!

Another thing I have noticed is that Amazon is not allowing me to increase pricers on many products to stay profitable. They keep deactivating some listings even though I have min-max limits set. They are doing this even when there are no other offers. It just means that I will sell them elsewhere. No listing on Amazon means more profit from my own website.

Amazon does not care about anyone, particularly their sellers. They want to be as autonomous and controlling as possible so they will squeeze every cent out of anything that sells on their platform. They don't have ethics, and they don't care.

Yup, 3P selling any major brand is done for good. Even if you do manage to get approved somehow, unless you are doing FBA (which you will not be able to make any profit from), your listings will never get the Buy Box for any used listing.
For far too long Amazon accepted retail arbitrage sellers which is NOT allowed per the Amazon policies and which is exactly why they are now kicking everyone out both legitimate and non authorized resellers.
You can thank dip$hit YouTubers for that one and Amazon greed for allowing everyone and their grandmothers to resell here knowing well that the brands would eventually come after them.
Amazon is no longer viable or sustainable for 3P sellers, only manufacturer direct seller accounts. We have had more than 50% of our brands gated for good and new ones getting re-gated weekly. We buy through authorized distributors since forever and they are still denying all invoices, been in business for 20+ years and seen major authorized distributors come, go, and merge. Amazon is dead in the water for resellers. Been moving our inventory and efforts to other platforms which are doing great, recommend you do the same. Best of Luck

We've sold books on Amazon for more than 15 years. This year they begain deactivating listings. Some time went by and we were able to "fix" listing issues. Then they turned it off again. Extremely inconsistent. Sold a book yesterday and tried to list more copies of the same title today in brand new condition. Nothing doing. Ebay has no problems letting us list -- and sell. Amazon is chasing vendors away. "Seller support" has no answer.
