Seller account to handmade - is it a good idea?

Would you mind giving me some advice please?
I have a seller account and have realised I can apply for a handmade account.
From what I understood from the help given from seller central team, my seller account would just show the handmade title and I could carry on selling as normal but from reading some of the discussions here, I don't think it's that simple.
I am really concerned that if I apply and I'm successful for a handmade account, I'd lose my existing reviews as I understand I need to create new listings in the handmade account. I thought I'd just go automatically from a seller account to a handmade account.
Is that right?
Also do you think it would affect the algorithm of my Asins that are selling currently on my seller account?

What option did you select in the end?

You would lose all your reviews.
You have to delete the listing from the and create a new ASIN in the Handmade category. You do, of course, also lose any ranking that has been built up.
