@Spencer_Amazon

How about taking some time to try and resolve some of the issues raised by Sellers in the Forum, that will fill far more than your week, every week trying to get Amazon to rectify lots of issues.

That would resolve many on-going problems meaning end-user Buyers will be happier as well.

I answered one of your other new topics like this, and many other Sellers did as well, but when it back-fired, you were not to be seen to actually try and resolve anything, or even agree how bad your employers are (often creating more problems with each new policy they add).

==

What difference does it make what our 3 core values are, unless they match Amazon's, then they do not count in any way.

Most Businesses core values are NOT the same as Amazon's:

To make the Buyer happy, by refunding the Buyer even when we know they are liars, and fraudulent, by saying an item has not been received because Amazon has messaged the Buyer to say the item is lost, as it was not fully tracked (photo, GPS and signed for), even though it has arrived according to Royal Mail.

To make the Buyer happy and refund the Buyer, when they just stuck a Returns Postage Label directly to the product, not wrapped it even, as Amazon Returns System wrongly says that they can just take it to a Post Office and the Post Office will wrap it for them (which they won't, wrong information by Amazon), so the item has to be binned when received back,as it gets damaged of course, yet a full refund given by Amazon of our money.

To be happily Blackmailed by the Buyer to refund, and if the Seller doesn't give in to the Blackmail, they will get bad feedback, which will not be removed as not one of the rigid 4 reasons for removal, blackmail is not one of the feedback removal reasons, nor is a Seller conforming to Amazon policy, but the Buyer wants something different.

So, what are your 3 core values?

Hi Spencer,

It would be good to know what Amazon's core value are, since, as I see it, they are deeply flawed.

Bearing in mind it is breaking the law (Section 2 of the Competition & Markets Act 1998), by allowing some sellers to advertise their products whilst some competitors (selling the exact same genre/type of product are barred(, (I refer to the latest ongoing HFSS issues which are on this forum)), perhaps Amazon could sort out it's own core values.

My core values, based on the fact that Amazon, after 2 years of building an ASIN to a best seller, through investment in PPC, discounts and stock, are:

1. Managing the highly destructive economic consequences to my business of a mistake purely of Amazon's making.

2. Finding alternative sales channels.

3. Finding someone at Amazon who can sort the bloody problem out.

This is not getting at you personally @Spencer_Amazon, but these 'Engaging with Amazon' threads are a waste of time if there is never any feedback or changes noticed even when we do take time out of our working day to answer these threads. That is not 'engaging' with your sellers, despite the title, when there is no feedback or acknowledgement of the simply dozens of issues raised that we sellers face on a daily basis.

Unfortunately it does not matter what OUR core values are, as they are often ridden over rough-shod by Amazon policies, where the customer is ALWAYS right (which they are NOT !), and allowed to get away with fraudulent activity in so many ways, ALWAYS to the detriment of the seller.

So many of the policies are no longer fit for purpose (notably A-Z, sending emails to customers saying their item 'might' be lost, refunding the customer for almost any reason despite irrefutable proof that the item has been delivered, etc.etc.

The core values of my business are:

1) Customer satisfaction

2) Fast delivery

3) Supplying high quality products

Unfortunately due to Amazon’s counterproductive DD+7 policy it is impossible to fulfill the first 2 values as this policy has created a vicious circle. Business relies on cash flow, by holding a seller’s funds Amazon is stifling my cash flow. I need the funds in order to buy postage, restock products and other general business expenses, without the cash flow these things become impossible. For example at present I have 100 open orders and over £4000 in a held balance, today Amazon allowed me to disburse around £50 which won’t be available until next week. If I wasn’t treated like a thief by Amazon I would be able to send all the packages without any issue but instead I have a backlog which is forever mounting up. Due to the backlog I can’t restock products that are fast selling as I have to use the pitiful amount of money disbursed to pay for postage because Amazon think I’m going to run away with the customer’s money. Because customers are receiving orders late thanks to the backlog I keep getting claims and negative feedback which I would not get if I had access to my funds, obviously this also effects sales with the hit on my ODR. All I want to do is run my business without hinderance but I can’t because Amazon are stopping me from doing this. I can say that every bad feedback and claim I have had stems from this draconian policy so the ROOT CAUSE of my problems is DD+7 without this policy I would be able to provide all of my businesses core values but because of Amazon I can’t.

For example, we would never leave a customer who was trying to get help (for the problems we'd caused them) just dangling there, completely ignored - like what's happened to the poor fellow in this thread:

Misidentified Restricted / Offensive Products

For us, hanging a customer out to dry like that - especially after all the problems they're experiencing were caused entirely by us - would be completely contrary to our core values. We just wouldn't do it.

Still, every company's different, eh?

To be honest & respectful, this applies to how I live my life.

To make a good honest living out of business.

If you are a real person, who might understand these comments & you will also understand why everyone else has come up with 20 to 30 ideas for you to solve, to make working on this platform better like it was 20 years ago.
